This role involves receiving and staging merchandise by department, marking it appropriately for placement within the facility, and delivering it to the correct department. The clerk will stack received merchandise on pallets or carts, complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies, and notify the manager/supervisor of low stock levels in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include receiving deliveries, storing perishables properly, and rotating stock. The position requires inspecting deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots, and refusing acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items. Adherence to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas is essential. Additionally, the clerk will organize, clean, and sanitize all refrigerators and freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains, and remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash, placing them in proper storage areas.
