About The Position

Position will function as a senior level Storekeeper, for the purpose of providing supplies and commodities to all the Jackson Complex Facilities. Functions include: To order, receive, distribute commodities, Including fresh, refrigerated, and frozen food, perform general warehouse related activities as assigned by the department supervisor. This position reports to work within the secure perimeter fence of a Level-1 Facility (SMT). This position has direct supervisory contact of prisoners from a Level- 1 Secure Facility at all times, supervising prisoners during the performance of all the employee’s duties and tasks, enforcing the facility’s rules and has direct participation in the disciplinary process. Employee required 40 hrs of annual mandatory training due to prisoner contact and supervision. Position may require a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License ). Requirements

  • One year of experience in the storage, handling and distribution of materials, or in the operation of mail handling and sorting machines, and related equipment (for Storekeeper E6).
  • Three years of experience in the storage, handling and distribution of materials, or in the operation of mail handling and sorting machines, and related equipment, including two years equivalent to the Storekeeper E6 (for Storekeeper 7).
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony or have felony charges pending.
  • Must complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET).
  • Must provide at least three professional references and their contact information.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required for some positions.
  • Attach a resume identifying specific experience and dates of employment.
  • Attach a copy of an official transcript(s) if you would like credit for your education.
