About The Position

HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division, with more than 11,000 employees, is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a significant contributor to Alabama's economic growth. For nearly 85 years, the company has specialized in designing, building, and maintaining amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. As the largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, Ingalls Shipbuilding is currently constructing four classes of ships simultaneously and has a long history of developing technologically advanced vessels for the surface Navy fleet. The Storekeeper role involves performing various tasks related to the receipt, storage, or issuance of supplies, including receiving, checking, stowing, counting, and assembling all types of supplies according to established supply systems, procedures, and methods.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have two (2) years experience working in storeroom / warehouse in industrial, commercial or marine industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Mississippi Tech Master graduate.
  • Forklift and computer experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks in connection with the receipt, storage or issuance of supplies.
  • Receive, check, stow, count, or assemble supplies of all types in accordance with established supply systems, procedures, and methods.
