About The Position

In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with specialized business or operational functions that contribute to departmental goals and initiatives. This role involves welcoming and assisting students utilizing The Store in a friendly, respectful, and confidential manner. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, refrigerators, and freezers while maintaining an organized shopping environment, and receiving, sorting, and inventorying food donations and deliveries. The position also requires monitoring inventory levels, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, assisting with data entry and inventory tracking, and preparing orders for campus food distribution sites. Additionally, the role supports volunteer groups, assists with campus outreach events, and provides mid to advanced level administrative and operational support. This may include serving as an initial contact for guests, generating reports, creating content, maintaining websites, assisting with special projects, event coordination, identifying areas of improvement, and maintaining internal databases. The student worker must comply with University policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist students utilizing The Store in a friendly, respectful, and confidential manner.
  • Stock shelves, refrigerators, and freezers while maintaining an organized shopping environment.
  • Receive, sort, and inventory food donations and deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the pantry and storage areas.
  • Assist with data entry, check-in procedures, and inventory tracking.
  • Help prepare orders and supplies for campus food distribution sites and special programs.
  • Support volunteer groups during service projects and donation drives.
  • Assist with campus outreach events, including the Baylor Free Farmers Market and other Basic Needs initiatives.
  • Provide mid to advanced level administrative and operational support for day-to-day tasks.
  • May serve as initial contact for in-person guests or callers; provide excellent customer service.
  • May generate, prepare and analyze reports or perform forecasting.
