About The Position

Performs various duties in connection with loading, unloading, verifying of merchandise in an Exchange store storeroom and/or location, or moving, stacking layaway merchandise in assigned locations. The role involves assisting customers in locating merchandise and answering general questions, and may occasionally involve operating a cash register. Work is performed under general supervision, with specific instructions provided for new or unfamiliar situations. Completed work is checked for adherence to instructions. The position also includes performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Six months experience performing various duties in connection with loading, unloading, and verifying of merchandise.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to handle merchandise up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

Loads and unloads merchandise, examining it for damage or shortages.
Verifies the type and quantity of merchandise received against documentation, reporting any discrepancies or deficiencies to the supervisor.
Assists in the assembly and loading of merchandise based on received requests.
Unpacks, segregates, and stocks shelves and counters with merchandise according to established instructions.
May price stamp merchandise.
Assists in conducting periodic inventories by counting stock items and maintaining cleanliness of storage and sales areas.
Moves designated layaway merchandise from the retail store to other assigned warehouse areas.
Stacks merchandise according to prescribed procedures.
Returns merchandise to the store as required.
Ensures proper documentation is completed and forwarded to appropriate departments.
May operate a price tag machine, unload boxes and packages, and pull merchandise from stock or shelves.
Assists customers in locating merchandise and answering general questions.
May operate a cash register on an occasional basis.
