About The Position

Challenge Unlimited is seeking a Part-Time Store Worker 1 at the Scott Air Force Base Commissary. This role is ideal for an individual with a disability, and candidates with disabilities will be strongly considered. The Store Worker 1 supports the Operations team, helping individuals with different abilities receive work support and development to achieve independence. The primary responsibility is shelf stocking, including moving and rotating merchandise, stocking, straightening, and displaying products. The role may also involve cleaning aisles, operating equipment safely, and contributing to teamwork through training and communication.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. (Proof of ed is not required)
Past work experience in any field.
Requires attention to detail and data entry skills.
Must pass criminal background check.
Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.
Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.

Previous experience in inventory, shipping & handling, or warehouse helpful.

Responsibilities

Move merchandise by use of non-motorized equipment for display and resale purposes.
Clean merchandise on or in display fixtures utilizing various merchandise techniques common to retail trade.
Stock, rotate, and straighten merchandise for sale in the store.
Display merchandise by a predetermined placement system using labels or other identifying marks.
Straighten merchandise to give a neat, full, and salable appearance and display merchandise in such a manner to maintain freshness and uniformity.
Determine display or sale requirements from existing inventory.
Keep inventory forms of merchandise stocked and merchandise returned to storage, item description, or other information.
Rotate stock so newer dates are toward the rear of the shelf and soon to expire items in the front.
Remove short-dated, outdated, and damaged merchandise and place in specified holding area.
Clear and clean aisles of empty pallets and debris.
Ensure merchandise is marked with a merchandise number and has appropriate signs.
Use a cardboard baler.
Separate cardboard and plastic and break down boxes.
Remove empty sell-down boxes and plastic coupon rings.
