About The Position

The ideal Store Support employee has a passion for fashion, is positive, energetic and enjoys providing excellent customer service while working at the point of sale. A day in a life involves assisting customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns and other transactions while delivering amazing customer service. The role requires keeping the service quick, easy and fun by listening to customer needs and sharing a love for fashion. It also involves being a great team player by doing your part to keep the department “runway ready,” including straightening up, lightly cleaning and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor. The employee will stay up on key fashion trends and products to help customers with purchase decisions and build relationships with customers by telling them about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards and the Nordstrom Rewards program. The role is flexible to support other areas of the store including order fulfillment and order pick-up.

Requirements

The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests from customers in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organization and follow-through
A knack for problem solving
Proficiency with computers and an interest in learning new computer applications
The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
