About The Position

Wegmans is seeking an independent, task-oriented Store Security Specialist who builds strong relationships throughout the store while keeping customer service top of mind. The store security team helps keep customers and employees safe. This role communicates between the Asset Protection team and store leadership, partners with management on asset protection strategies, supports safety programs, and responds to emergencies. The position is based at 21 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205. Availability is required for mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The role is full time and pays $33 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of related work experience.
Proven ability to effectively resolve problems and manage conflict.
Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions affecting the safety and well-being of others.
Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment.
Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license.
Must be 18 years or older.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related degree.
Military, security, loss prevention, or asset protection experience.
Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with management to implement asset protection strategies that drive sales and reduce shrink, and analyze trends, benchmarks, and data.
Execute safety programs to ensure a safe, positive environment for customers and employees.
Build relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety awareness.
Monitor customers, vendors, and employees to prevent loss; investigate and process shoplifting incidents.
Respond to emergencies and provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and customers.
Communicate between the Asset Protection team and the store leadership group.
