About The Position

Mattress Firm® is seeking a Store Sales Manager to lead the company's vision and achieve sales performance goals. This role involves holding associates accountable for in-store merchandising, leading selling programs, and driving KPI results across multiple store units while supporting the omni-channel experience. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring teams prioritize the customer and create a compelling and engaging environment for team members. As an effective coach, this individual will develop associates' skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to achieving success.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
  • Ability to plan strategically.
  • Ability to analyze company provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels for store location.
  • Ability to analyze company provided reporting and identifying skill gaps to address through coaching.
  • Ability to plan, implement and monitor assigned store’s social media strategy to positively impact brand awareness and increase sales.
  • Ability to manage stock inventory levels for assigned store.
  • Ability to review merchandise flow for assigned store, ensuring accurate stock.
  • Ability to follow all Company procedures on cash handling including acceptance of payment and deposit processes.
  • Ability to adhere to all sales processing policies to ensure the proper creation and execution of customer invoicing.
  • Ability to execute company initiatives and any other activities requested by the supervisor.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of competition, advertisements and services offered, develop strategies to counter.
  • Ability to conduct store level inventory process and research any discrepancies.
  • Ability to partner with leadership and corporate partners as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 50+ pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team motivations and aspirations.
  • Develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights.
  • Conduct 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members.
  • Manage workforce activities including store staffing schedules and reconciling punches, utilizing Operations team support and tools.
  • Ensure company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations are followed.
  • Communicate professionally and represent the Company brand in all interactions.
  • Follow Company procedures for product transfers and inventory documentation.
  • Plan strategically and analyze company-provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels.
  • Partner with leadership to make staffing level changes.
  • Provide technical and product knowledge information to associates and customers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on products.
  • Analyze company-provided reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
  • Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
  • Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
  • Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor assigned store’s social media strategy.
  • Ensure timely opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage stock inventory levels and review merchandise flow for accuracy.
  • Follow all Company procedures on cash handling, including payment acceptance and deposit processes.
  • Adhere to all sales processing policies for customer invoicing.
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
