About The Position

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is hiring a part-time Store Sales Associate in St. Joseph, Missouri, for approximately 25 hours per week at $15.00 per hour. The position supports the store’s daily retail operations and helps advance The Salvation Army’s community programs through sales and donations. The associate provides customer service, processes transactions, handles merchandise, maintains the store, and contributes to team sales and production goals. The role includes paid training on register operations and store procedures, along with ongoing coaching and support from store leadership.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service.
Operate the cash register and accurately process sales transactions.
Assist with opening, closing, and balancing the register as assigned.
Restock merchandise and maintain organized, attractive sales displays.
Sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
Support daily sales and production goals as part of a team.
Assist donors and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
