The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Lawrence, KS is looking for friendly, dependable individuals to join our retail team as a Store Sales Associate I. Requirements

High school diploma or currently pursuing one
Basic computer and cash-handling skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to stand for extended periods
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
Comfortable working in an environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes

Nice To Haves

Retail, customer service, or cashier experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, respectful customer service while representing The Salvation Army’s mission
Greet and assist shoppers and donors
Process transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
Handle cash and credit transactions following TSA cash-handling policies
Open, close, and balance cash drawers as assigned
Stock merchandise, straighten racks, and maintain sales floor organization
Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and replenished
Follow all policies regarding the pricing and sale of donated goods
Work collaboratively with team members and store leadership
Support store productivity benchmarks and sales goals
Maintain availability for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays
