About The Position

DSW is looking for a Store Manager to lead their team. This role involves managing store operations, driving sales, developing staff, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The Store Manager will be responsible for meeting financial plans, overseeing inventory and omni-channel activities, and fostering a culture of growth and development within the store. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, customer service, and operational skills, with a passion for shoes and a commitment to DSW's core values.

  • Must have the ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.
  • Lifting, including the ability to lift- up to a maximum of 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ retail management experience
  • Minimum high school graduate of equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Elevating the in-store experience by modeling, supervising, and coaching associate and support leaders on behaviors that achieve store goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Developing and communicating store strategies that align to the company strategy, fostering a growth mindset, promoting a culture of innovation, and cultivating a focus on generating solution-oriented ideas.
  • Delivering financial plans to drive KPI performance on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis and identifying shifts in business to make necessary adjustments.
  • Fostering an environment of recognition, reinforcing behaviors that meet the customer and business needs.
  • Resolving customer and associate feedback with a sense of urgency.
  • Strategically planning and directing the movement of merchandise responding to customer trends.
  • Communicating to the Market Leader store-specific merchandise inventory recommendations.
  • Overseeing the execution of sales floor standards, maintenance, and operations.
  • Creating a cohesive talent strategy that meets the needs of the business.
  • Leading by example and holding the team accountable that all policy and procedures are followed.
  • Overseeing all inventory-related activities including freight receipt, product placement, markdowns, and mark out of stock (MOOS).
  • Overseeing all omni activities in store including Charge/Send and Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS).
  • Utilizing the Store Visit Assessment to identify opportunities and creating and implementing an action plan to course correct in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for all associate timekeeping activities to ensure store labor deliverables are met, including scheduling, forecasting, labor add/reductions, and payroll management.
  • Building a diverse team that meets the needs of the customer experience.
  • Resolving associate and leadership relations matters, taking partners when appropriate.
  • Leading the performance management process, including facilitating developmental conversations, providing consistent and constructive feedback, ensuring consistent accountability, and conducting comprehensive year-end reviews.
  • Building strong networking relationships to effectively recruit top talent for all positions and ensuring all open positions are filled in a timely manner.
  • Creating and implementing a development strategy that fosters a culture of advanced learning and career development.
  • Facilitating store meetings as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Market Leader and/or Regional Director.
