About The Position

Muse Paintbar is a guided painting experience with 26 studios across the East Coast. We offer a unique blend of art, entertainment, and social interaction, providing a fun and accessible way for people to explore their creativity. We are not a gallery or a classroom, but rather a vibrant social venue where guests can enjoy a night out that includes painting.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in art, business, marketing, finance, or a related field, or equivalent management experience.
  • Experience in the arts and comfort painting with acrylics.
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment (e.g., bar, restaurant).
  • Group art instruction experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sales, service, and leadership instincts.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace, Slack, and studio technology.
  • Full-time flexible availability, including days, evenings, and regular weekends.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 20% monthly.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • TIPS and ServSafe Manager certification (training and payment provided if not certified).
  • Ability to stand for long stretches.
  • Ability to frequently step onto and off of elevated surfaces.
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move through the studio quickly and safely, including tight spaces and raised surfaces.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with music and large groups.
  • Ability to work extended periods sitting and working on a computer.
  • Reliable internet, phone, and laptop for remote work when needed.
  • Quiet, well-lit space for remote work when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily studio operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead and assist painting sessions, providing clear, step-by-step instructions for beginners.
  • Prepare and manage private events and parties from setup to breakdown.
  • Supervise kitchen operations, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.
  • Drive sales through effective guest engagement and team performance.
  • Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and marketing display standards.
  • Recruit, interview, train, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to new hires.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with team members to discuss performance and development.
  • Manage monthly staff schedules in partnership with the Regional Manager.
  • Review and approve time-off requests and manage daily timecards.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the Regional Manager on sales, staffing, operations, and inventory.
  • Manage inventory counts, orders, and deliveries.
  • Handle in-studio customer complaints professionally and escalate complex issues.
  • Enforce alcohol service, safety, and cash handling procedures.
  • Submit maintenance and facility tickets as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager on feedback for development and advancement.
