About The Position

Pathways Hospice has an opening for a Store Manager for their newly created Pathways Rediscovered Thrift Store. This role is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and mission alignment of the store. This role oversees daily retail operations, staff and volunteer management, merchandising, donor relations, and financial performance. The Manager ensures the store generates revenue to support hospice services while providing a welcoming, community-focused shopping and donation experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of retail management experience, preferably in thrift, resale, estate or nonprofit settings.
  • Experience supervising staff and volunteers
  • Colorado driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store safety.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, safe, and inviting retail environment.
  • Oversee inventory flow, including donations, sorting, pricing, and display.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate store staff.
  • Coordinate and support volunteers, fostering a positive and mission-driven culture.
  • Create staff and Volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Monitor sales metrics and implement strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Manage store budget, expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze trends and adjust pricing, promotions, and merchandising accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate cash reconciliation and financial controls.
  • Promote donation drives and build relationships with donors and community partners.
  • Ensure a smooth, respectful donation process.
  • Represent the organization in the community and support outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing or development teams on campaigns and events.
  • Oversee sorting, pricing, and rotation of merchandise to maximize sales.
  • Ensure appealing product displays and seasonal merchandising.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage storage effectively.
  • Maintain quality standards for items sold.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Address incidents, concerns, and risk management issues promptly.
