The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The position objectives are to show consistent sales growth, ensure the store exemplifies the proper O’Reilly image, operates as a profit center, and follows policies and procedures to ensure the store is operating as economically and efficiently as possible. This role involves maximizing sales by directing team members to provide prompt, courteous, and professional service, soliciting orders, selling company products, and representing the company in accordance with company policies. The Store Manager will maintain and increase the customer base, review customer needs to gain market share, and coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager. They are responsible for supervising all store team members and working jointly with the District Manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members. This includes utilizing scheduling and timekeeping recommendations, developing work schedules, and reviewing team member timecards. The manager ensures all store team members continually improve their skills through company training on policies, procedures, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales, and safety. They work with the Sales and Pricing Departments to establish pricing levels for professional customers, maximize gross profit on outside purchases, and monitor pricing compliance. The Store Manager ensures the store is organized and operating according to all company policies and procedures, communicates new information to team members, implements planogram changes and merchandising plans, and provides accurate stock adjustment recaps. They accurately handle all daily store accounting functions, monitor charge accounts, implement loss prevention procedures, ensure store vehicles are maintained, and report property/building needs. The manager is also required to attend the Annual Managers' Conference.
