About The Position

The Waterfront Rescue Mission is hiring a positive, highly productive, safety-minded and team oriented manager to join our team at the Waterfront Thrift Store in Pensacola, FL! We have a position open for an Store Manager (SM) who will report to the Director of Retail Services. The SM will coach and manage the total store and will be responsible for financial performance to goal of their assigned areas. The SM will be required to work with others in the organization in a professional and progressive manner and will be required to be an excellent communicator with high business acumen in order to best facilitate sales and growth of the store to which they are assigned. He or she must be a person of faith and freely agree to sign a statement of faith acknowledging their beliefs.

Requirements

  • Christian Commitment: Must exemplify and model Christian behaviors and values and possess high levels of ethics, honesty and character.
  • Bachelor's degree; 4 or more years related experience and/or training in Retail Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license and be insurable by the WRM insurance carrier.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Financial performance to goal
  • Study KPI performance daily
  • Manage a high performance team that will complement the growth of the store
  • Manage controllable expenses
  • Ensure customer service expectations are followed at all times
  • Ensure a well recovered, clean, and organized store
  • Manages all aspects of the store’s assets (maintenance, repair, protect, etc.)
  • Prepares and documents annual capital requests and prepares annual inventory of merchandise.
  • Prepares and communicates the daily, weekly, meetings for staff (includes safety training), daily devotions and business key performance topics.
  • Manages the store system/critical processes and allows/test theories of improvement which will increase customer focus and increase revenues;
  • Manages all types of customer feedback.
  • Manages any incidents or injuries on the stores premises.
  • Manages all daily receipts and deposits and cash drawers.
  • Assists customers and donors (including authorizing returns or exchanges and complaints).
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are implemented and established processes are followed.
  • Provides and maintains documentation necessary for payroll.
  • Produces, maintains and evaluate control charts.
  • Produces documents and tests theories of improvement to our processes, create new processes when necessary and maintains a culture of quality.
  • Manages the purchased and donated merchandise inventory for the store (ordering, receiving, processesing, pricing, and merchandising).
  • Maintains and develops relationships with vendors and regulator agencies.
  • Prepares and documents an annual capital assist, new merchandise and donated items inventory.
  • Develops atmosphere of teamwork and good communication with store staff
  • Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other Mission management.
