About The Position

The location of this position is to be determined. Lunds & Byerlys is currently hiring for a vibrant and outgoing Full-Time Store Manager to create a sensational shopping experience for our customers! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive salary of $80,000-116,000/year with an at target bonus of 10%. We operate 7 days/week and are open from 6:00am-10:00pm. For this position the employee would be scheduled a range of shifts between 6:00am-10:00pm. JOB SUMMARY Assist the general manager in managing and directing all aspects of a high service, high touch retail environment in an efficient and disciplined manner that results in exceptional customer service, product excellence, employee engagement and achievement of operational performance targets with a focus on the perishable departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, general business, retail or equivalent experience
  • Food safety certification or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Five years of experience in the retail industry incorporating a variety of management experiences
  • A hospitable, service-oriented individual with high energy, positive attitude, and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of retail operations
  • Knowledge and aptitude of financial reporting systems and concepts
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, and lead direct reports to accomplish goals of the location financial plan and career development goals for each team member
  • Supervise department personnel to ensure successful performance of all job functions and compliance with company policies, operating procedures and governmental regulations
  • Hire, train and cross train, develop team, utilizing succession planning and meetings, performance management and general supervision of team
  • Ensure effective staffing levels by executing Workforce Management
  • Evaluate product quality, selection, conditions and merchandising throughout the store, in every department to ensure that appropriate conditions are maintained
  • Accountable for translating company strategies, objectives and initiatives into actionable items and successfully deploying those throughout the perishable departments
  • Monitor departments to ensure food safety requirements are adhered to including hand washing, product and case temping, food storage and employee health, and take action as needed to correct unsafe situations. Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all safety, food safety, and security programs, guidelines and regulations
  • Maintain the physical facility utilizing internal and external resources to address and maintain building, grounds, and equipment maintenance, security, and safety
  • Establish and maintain store specific operational standards and ensure compliance with company operational standards
  • Review financial performance reports and analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities to obtain cost savings objectives through efficient planning of resources, including labor
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all safety, food safety, and security programs, guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all employees and customers
  • Monitor perishable department scheduling to ensure that service standards and productivity needs are met while achieving departmental labor objectives
  • Monitor local competitive activity and local marketing opportunities and communicate back to location manager
  • Handle work related and customer injuries appropriately to ensure effective resolution and compliance with all reporting requirements
