Responsible for the management of all employees in the effective planning and implementation of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. The Store Manager will recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies, ensuring the store is properly staffed. They will provide proper training for employees, conduct performance evaluations, and identify gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination. Recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement will be made. Performance, conduct, and safety expectations will be communicated regularly, and meetings and events will be coordinated to encourage safety, security, and policies. The Store Manager will ensure that the store is adequately equipped with tools necessary to perform required tasks and will complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines. This role requires the ability to evaluate operating statements to identify business trends, expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors. Ordering will be managed to ensure the meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets, with weekly reviews of the ordering plan, seasonal direction, and inventory management issues, including follow-up on Basic Stock Replenishment (BSR)/cycle counts. The Store Manager will facilitate the efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise, ensure all merchandise is presented according to established practices, and utilize merchandise fixtures properly. Accurate inventory levels will be maintained by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls. The financial integrity of the store will be ensured through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to stated company security practices and cash control procedures. Superior customer service leadership will be provided, and a clean, well-organized store will be maintained, facilitating a safe and secure working and shopping environment. The Store Manager must follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications, and ensure employee compliance.
