The Store Manager is responsible for the operations and performance of their designated store, leading staff, and ensuring an excellent shopping experience for guests. Success in this role requires experience in customer service, staffing, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management experience in retail, grocery, or restaurant
  • Demonstrated leadership. Ability to coach and develop people to succeed and flourish in their roles
  • Strong business acumen. To know how to grow and develop the business by effective prioritization and critical thinking
  • Resilience. Ability to remain calm and navigate through high stress situations

  • Possess a Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Emergency First Aid – CPR-A & AED (Must be acquired by the end of the 3-month probation period, if not already possessed. Homes Alive Pets will reimburse for license certificate renewals for active Store Managers)

Responsibilities

  • Managing store staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and delegating responsibilities.
  • Ensuring high-quality presentation of floor inventory, including organization and stocking.
  • Maintaining customer service excellence in all aspects of the store, including appearance, staff-customer interactions, merchandise display, product placement, story layout, and selling procedures.
  • Recording inventory shrinkage and completing write-off documentation.
  • Managing customer returns and submitting credits to head office.
  • Overseeing accuracy in sales tags, signage, and promotions.
  • Overseeing warehouse management, including ensuring inventory is organized.
  • Performing annual store inventory reviews.
  • Other reasonable duties as identified by the Regional Manager.
