About The Position

This role is crucial in supporting Goodwill's mission of providing skills training, job placement, and social services to New Mexicans. As a Store Manager, you will be an important asset in the operation of Goodwill stores, showcasing your skills by overseeing and managing daily store operations to ensure maximum sales, profitability, and effective customer service.   • Associate's degree.
  • Five years of supervisory work experience in a retail setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Manage the store ensuring sales goals are met and expenses are controlled within store budgets.
  • Appraise and price inventory to extract the greatest monetary value from donated goods.
  • Create a positive public image of Goodwill through a clean store environment, attractive displays, and presentable staff.
  • Answer and resolve customer complaints and inquiries, promoting excellent customer service.
  • Report lack of or surplus of donated goods promptly for transportation coordination.
  • Communicate merchandise shipment concerns to appropriate management.
  • Establish effective ways to reach production, sales, and margin goals.
  • Coordinate the implementation of marketing and promotional activities at the store level.
  • Ensure the store is opened and closed at scheduled times, safeguarding the facility and taking appropriate security precautions.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of all facility equipment, utilities, machinery, and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all store personnel understand and follow Goodwill's loss prevention policies.
  • Supervise, plan, and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties, ensuring accountability.
  • Monitor sales floor merchandise and supplies, adjusting as necessary, and ensuring weekly merchandise pulls are completed.
  • Oversee the quality of goods going to the sales floor.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor retail associates and persons served in store procedures and policies.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor persons served in Services programs (e.g., TrialWorks, SCSEP).
  • Integrate people with barriers to employment into the retail store setting.
  • Monitor the warehouse to ensure merchandise is being processed.
  • Reconcile cash with sales receipts, keep operating records, and prepare daily records for accounting.
  • Prepare and submit payroll records in a timely manner.
  • Budget revenue, expense, and capital expenditures for the store annually.
  • Complete required administrative and clerical duties, including submitting paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
  • Perform work of a retail associate as needed.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of trends in retail.
  • Host regular staff meetings to ensure communication among staff regarding department activities.
  • Assist in the creation of policies, practices, and procedures for staff to ensure consistency and adherence to department goals.
  • Contribute to the organization's effectiveness by offering information and opinions as a management team member, integrating objectives with other functions, and accomplishing related results.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Be responsible for the safety of all persons served and staff under supervision.
  • Be responsible for CARF compliance and maintaining standards in areas of responsibility.
  • Implement CARF standards into all programs and follow professional ethics as set in the Code of Conduct/Business Ethics policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Directly supervise employees in the assigned store/facility, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; providing feedback and coaching; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
