Responsible for the management of all employees in the effective planning and implementation of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. This role involves recruiting, selecting, and retaining qualified employees, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and making recommendations regarding employee pay and advancement. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the store is properly staffed, opened, and closed, and must personally open the store a minimum of two times per week and close the store a minimum of two times per week. They will evaluate operating statements to identify business trends, expense control opportunities, and potential shrink or errors. Ordering merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets, reviewing ordering plans, and managing inventory are key duties. The Store Manager must also ensure efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise, and that all merchandise is presented according to established practices, utilizing fixtures properly with correct pricing and signage. Maintaining accurate inventory levels through control of damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls is crucial. The financial integrity of the store must be ensured through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices and cash control procedures. Providing superior customer service leadership, maintaining a clean and organized store, and ensuring a safe and secure working and shopping environment are also essential. The Store Manager must ensure the store is adequately equipped with necessary tools and follow all company policies and procedures, completing all required paperwork and documentation.
