We offer a wide variety of products in departments such as tools, hardware, automotive, pet, work and casual clothing, footwear, farm supplies, feed, bird food, and lawn and garden. The primary responsibility of a Store Manager - Unassigned is to learn and embody the company's culture and core philosophies. This role requires strong leadership skills to motivate and supervise team members. The Store Manager - Unassigned will gain knowledge in merchandising, shrink control, and store operations. A successful candidate will understand the local market, customer base, seasonal opportunities, and competitors to influence business decisions. This role demands acting as a role model, leader, problem-solver, and strategic thinker, managing time effectively to achieve budgeted goals. The Store Manager - Unassigned will be responsible for learning store operations within 6 to 12 months and must be willing and able to relocate.

Requirements

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
  • Able to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
  • Promote an aggressive sales culture with an intense focus on superior customer service.
  • Maintain a highly motivated team by hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing team members; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
  • Maintain professionalism and positive store morale.
  • Ensure execution and performance of all store job responsibilities through key associates and/or personal actions.
  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members and following up on work results.
  • Provide feedback to the office, including buyers, district managers, and other company officials.
  • Have full profit and loss accountability for individual store locations.
  • Achieve financial objectives by assisting in budget preparation, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
  • Establish relationships and support local community groups consistent with company values.
  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts and maintaining inventories.
  • Manage and protect all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy against theft and damage.
  • Verify merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures.
  • Protect employees and customers and maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Help determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by a supervisor or company official.
