Assist store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations of store. The objective is to receive hands-on training, preparing the manager in training for a management position in another store or future location. This role involves supervising the professional and retail operations of the store and the team members involved, including delivery and installer service specialists, and parts and merchandising specialists. The position is responsible for supervising work performed by all team members assigned to the store/HUB store, working jointly with the district manager and store manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members. The role also includes communicating information from Team Weekly and monthly store managers’ meetings to all team members, training new team members, handling team member performance evaluations, and recommending pay increases. The manager in training will support the store manager by working with the assistant management team to ensure safety compliance and that all team members receive appropriate training. This includes monitoring and reinforcing safety expectations, making sales calls, and supporting store operations as assigned. Responsibilities also include the maintenance of the delivery fleet and associated records, ensuring the store/HUB store is neat, clean, and organized, and learning to utilize electronic scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll systems. The role involves learning to manage key components of gross profit, monitoring professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse, reviewing competitive price matches and price overrides, reviewing individual team member productivity and KPI dashboards daily, and reviewing the monthly P&L statement with the store manager to discuss areas of opportunity.
