About The Position

99 Ranch Market is one of the largest Asian supermarket chains in the United States, with a growing presence across multiple states. We are passionate about shaping the Asian Supermarket culture and are looking for motivated individuals to join our expanding family. This role is a Store Management in Training position focused on the Produce Department. The trainee will undergo a comprehensive 6 to 8-month training and evaluation period. Upon successful completion, qualified candidates will be assigned to a store to manage the Produce Department, overseeing all aspects from operations and product knowledge to employee management and sales targets.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in produce, grocery retail, food service, or related fields.
  • 1 year of management/supervisor experience required.
  • Work in an environment with varying temperatures and use department equipment.
  • Require lifting 25+ lbs objects and long periods of standing.
  • Must be able to work at a flexible schedule (night, weekends & holidays).
  • Must be able to relocate if necessary.
  • Must be able to travel between different stores for training purposes.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, interpreting technical procedures and training materials.
  • Able to speak, write, present, commute, and respond to information and questions.
  • Great interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, mass and volume.
  • Commit to company values and customer services.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with inventory management programs, Microsoft Office, IT retail, or SAP are highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English, Chinese, and Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Undergo training and evaluations for 6 to 8 months.
  • Manage the Produce Department's daily operation and meet company standards.
  • Work with the store management team to design store promotion plans and meet sales targets.
  • Maintain attractive produce displays, ensure freshness and quality, and keep displays fully stocked.
  • Order products based on on-hand inventory, promotion events, seasonal demand, sales trends, and delivery schedules.
  • Receive produce shipments and examine the quantity, quality, freshness, and condition of products.
  • Control inventory movement (FIFO), including rotating products, removing unsellable items, organizing cooler and backroom areas, monitoring shrink, and directing physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain department merchandising, product handling, storage, and labeling according to company SOP and food-safety standards.
  • Maintain familiarity with local vendors, seasonal items, and popular local produce products.
  • Use label updating and price sign printing computer programs efficiently.
  • Provide schedules to department employees and manage attendance.
  • Work on Human Capital Management, including coaching, operational training, mentoring, and performance review.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
