About The Position

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a passionate and purpose-driven Store Logistics Manager to drive the day-to-day operational rhythm of the store. This role ensures every process behind the scenes supports a seamless customer experience by leading logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a sharp focus on inventory flow, accuracy, safety, and execution excellence. The ideal candidate will translate corporate strategy into consistent, in-store results through thoughtful planning and strong follow-through. This position involves analyzing operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions that elevate productivity and efficiency. The manager will balance workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll while holding teams accountable to established standards. Their leadership will directly influence store performance, profitability, and the overall experience for both customers and team members.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership or management experience required
Demonstrated success leading departments of up to 40 team members while driving operational excellence and achieving sales targets
Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
Solid business acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial data
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience with inventory systems, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
Sound judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to complete required certifications, including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck
A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed

Responsibilities

Drive the day-to-day operational rhythm of the store, ensuring every process behind the scenes supports a seamless customer experience.
Lead logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a sharp focus on inventory flow, accuracy, safety, and execution excellence.
Analyze operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that elevate productivity and efficiency.
Balance workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll while holding teams accountable to established standards.
Partner with the Store Director and fellow store leaders to align operational priorities with business goals.
Coach and support Team Leads and Team Members across Logistics, Merchandining, and Receiving, creating clarity, accountability, and momentum.
Collaborate with district and regional partners during store walks, audits, and operational reviews, translating feedback into actionable improvement plans.
Support a culture of trust, performance, and continuous improvement.
Manage and audit firearm sales, ensuring all transactions meet federal and state requirements through accurate completion of ATF Form 4473, background check verification, and final approval.
