About The Position

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Store Logistics Manager to drive the day-to-day operational rhythm of the store. This role ensures every process behind the scenes supports a seamless customer experience by leading logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a sharp focus on inventory flow, accuracy, safety, and execution excellence. The manager will analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to elevate productivity and efficiency. This includes balancing workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll, while holding teams accountable to established standards. The leadership in this role directly influences store performance, profitability, and the overall experience for both customers and team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership or management experience required
  • Demonstrated success leading departments of up to 40 team members while driving operational excellence and achieving sales targets
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial data
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with inventory systems, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to complete required certifications, including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards

Responsibilities

  • Drive the day-to-day operational rhythm of the store, ensuring every process behind the scenes supports a seamless customer experience.
  • Lead logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a sharp focus on inventory flow, accuracy, safety, and execution excellence.
  • Analyze operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that elevate productivity and efficiency.
  • Balance workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll while holding teams accountable to established standards.
  • Partner with the Store Director and fellow store leaders to align operational priorities with business goals.
  • Coach and support Team Leads and Team Members across Logistics, Merchandining, and Receiving.
  • Collaborate with district and regional partners during store walks, audits, and operational reviews, translating feedback into actionable improvement plans.
  • Manage and audit firearm sales, ensuring all transactions meet federal and state requirements through accurate completion of ATF Form 4473, background check verification, and final approval.
  • Step in wherever needed to support the team.
