About The Position

The Store Janitor at PAY-LESS is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees. This role is essential in ensuring that the store is presentable and upholds the company's standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Requirements

• Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles is advantageous
• Experience in a retail environment is a plus
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor scrubbers
• Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance
• Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within assigned time frames
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to interact with store staff and management
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with store policies.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including break rooms and customer service areas.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to management promptly.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down displays as needed.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
