Requirements

  • Passion for Golf: The ideal candidate is an avid golfer with a deep connection to the sport.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience in managing large-format retail stores (20,000 sq ft or more), focusing on leading through teams and using systems to drive efficiency.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to inspire teams, foster a positive work environment, and cultivate a sense of loyalty. SGMs must be the type of leader that people want to work for—someone who is resilient, empathetic, and results-oriented.
  • Analytical & Strategic Mindset: Ability to read and interpret business reports, understand KPIs, and implement strategies that impact store performance. Must demonstrate strong business acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Experience & Commitment: Candidates should have multi-year experience as a retail leader, with stable career progression. Ideal candidates demonstrate resilience and a track record of seeing projects through. Frequent job changes in the past five years are not aligned with this role's demands.
  • Apparel Experience: Prior experience in the apparel retail industry, along with a strong understanding of customer preferences.
  • Growth Mindset: Candidates should be eager to contribute to a fast-paced environment, not looking to slow down but rather to elevate performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire Teams: Create a motivated, united team by being a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Foster an inclusive culture where the focus is on developing team members and consistently delivering the "Green Jacket Experience" to customers.
  • Drive Business Metrics: Track and impact key performance indicators (KPIs), including Sales Per Hour, conversion rates, average transaction value, and items per transaction. Use analytical skills to understand reporting and translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage a large-format store of up to 20,000 sq ft, efficiently balancing priorities and objectives while maintaining high standards. Leverage systems and team resources to deliver results without consistently working excessive hours.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Be present on the shop floor, engaging with customers and guiding team members. Champion exceptional service as a core element of the store’s success.
