About The Position

Works in all departments across the store, providing coverage and additional support where needed. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment. This role requires availability between 7 AM and 11 PM and involves working 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position involves engaging customers in a friendly manner, exceeding expectations, and contributing to an inclusive working environment. The Store Floater must demonstrate reliable attendance, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a solutions-oriented approach to problems. They are expected to represent company values, work cooperatively with team members, customers, and vendors, and adhere to all safety policies and company guidelines. This role also involves maintaining store cleanliness and equipment, and understanding specific department guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must complete and maintain any required food and work safety trainings/certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service, food service, retail or grocery experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of retail Operations department with experience working across multiple departments in a retail grocery specific environment highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Trained to work in all departments across the store, providing coverage and support where needed.
  • Follows all policies, applicable food and work safety laws and procedures specific to each department.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of products throughout store, with willingness to continue learning.
  • Assists customers with product selection, shares product knowledge, and makes recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Supports the Online Shopping program.
  • Supports food production departments such as Meat and Seafood, Bakery/Pastry, Produce, and Prepared Foods.
  • Prepares, slices, wraps, weighs, prices, labels, and presents department products according to standards.
  • Prepares food for Prepared Foods stations and cases following company recipes and specifications.
  • Prepares coffee and other beverages.
  • Processes customers’ made-to-order items accurately and expeditiously.
  • Supports Front End operations with cashiering, bagging, performing carry-outs, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Builds displays and arranges department products for attractive presentations.
  • Supports the Floral department and assists customers with floral arrangements and product selection.
  • Maintains plant and flower conditions.
  • Executes product demos, including sponsored, vendor, and themed tastings.
  • Accurately receives and scans vendor deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Checks quality, count, and condition of products and communicates any issues to management.
  • Completes customer special orders thoroughly and provides follow-through.
  • Maintains whole-store cleanliness, cleans restrooms and deli seating area, sweeps, mops, empties trash, cleans parking lot, and washes/stocks kitchen equipment.
  • Stocks, rotates, and faces products with attention to quality and expiration dates.
  • Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies.
  • Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.
  • Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays, and events.
