About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of the store's overall look and feel, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver on Brand Promises. The team member will provide friendly customer service, assist customers in navigating the store, and help them find desired products. Key duties involve managing trash disposal, cleaning floors, moving equipment and products for cleaning, and preparing cleaning solutions. The position requires deep cleaning of high-traffic areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, and entryways to ensure a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff. The team member must maintain cleaning equipment, monitor supply needs, and proactively identify and address areas requiring cleaning. All tasks must be completed in accordance with supervisor assignments and federal, state, and county guidelines. Additionally, the role involves maintaining positive and respectful interactions, projecting a positive image, and serving as a role model. Other duties may include providing efficient checkout experiences, handling cash, promoting and enrolling customers in rewards programs and credit cards, assisting with online order fulfillment (BOPIS and SFS), participating in truck unloading and stocking, supporting safety and shrink programs, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs for compliance.

Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
May require mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Deep clean key areas of the store including but not limited to bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
Seek out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
Maintain positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization’s vision and values.
Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
Provide a fast and friendly check out experience; execute cash handling to standards.
Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
Participate in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
Support shrink and safety programs.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.
