Store Driver
About The Position
This is a part-time Store Driver position that requires the ability to work from 12 PM to 6 PM during weekdays and be available on Saturdays and Sundays. The role involves picking, staging, and delivering parts to professional customers, as well as picking up returns and cores. Additionally, the driver will distribute sales flyers, promote current sales and loyalty programs, and collect credit accounts daily. A significant part of the role includes building and maintaining relationships with key customers and providing insights from delivery interactions. The position also involves assisting with upselling and cross-selling products to enhance transaction values. Store maintenance, including cleanliness and stocking, is also a responsibility. The driver will maintain product knowledge and engage with walk-in customers to meet their needs. This role will be cross-trained to work as a Salesperson in the front of the store, performing both duties.
Requirements
- MUST have a clean driving record
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
- Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English & Spanish ($.50 more per hour if Bilingual)
- Automotive parts experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
- Pick up returns and cores
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
- Daily collection of credit accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
- Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
- General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
- Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
- Other duties as assigned
