Store Driver
About The Position
The Store Driver picks, stages, and safely delivers parts to professional customers, while also collecting returns and cores and delivering sales flyers. The role supports customer relationships and sales by promoting current offers and loyalty programs, collecting payments on credit accounts, sharing customer insights with the CPP, and recommending products or services to walk-in customers. The driver also supports store operations through stocking, inventory counts, truck stocking, and store cleanliness. The role requires safe driving, customer service and sales skills, the ability to use inventory and delivery systems, and the physical ability to perform lifting and other store tasks.
Requirements
- Speak and write English and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and leadership; Spanish is a plus.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Be able to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Be confident engaging customers and promoting products.
- Be willing to learn about new products and sales techniques.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive parts experience is preferred.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly and monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs.
- Collect payments on credit accounts daily.
- Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, and share delivery-related insights with the CPP.
- Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts.
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales.
- Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
