About The Position

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Store Driver to join their team. This role involves picking, staging, and safely delivering parts to professional customers, as well as picking up returns and cores. The driver will also be responsible for daily collection of credit accounts and building relationships with key customers. Additionally, the position assists in upselling and cross-selling products, maintaining store cleanliness, general stocking, and staying knowledgeable about product inventory. The driver will also engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
Ability to use delivery board system
Friendly and persuasive communication
Ability to locate and stock parts
Safety knowledge and skills
Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Automotive parts experience is preferred
Spanish language skills

Responsibilities

Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
Pick up returns and cores
Daily collection of credit accounts
Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
Other duties as assigned
