About The Position

In-N-Out Burger is seeking a full-time Store Design Project Manager I for its Real Estate office in Baldwin Park, CA. This role is responsible for managing the architectural and design aspects of new store development projects, working closely with New Construction and Architectural Design teams. The position involves monitoring project progress, maintaining schedules, ensuring adherence to design intent and company standards, and conducting site inspections.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in Architectural Project Management; required
  • Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Bluebeam; required
  • Strong proficiency using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture and building design (preferably in quick-service or restaurant design), state and local building codes; and ADA compliance is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of structural, civil, and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing); required
  • Well-versed in construction methods, materials, and best practices
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism and accommodating manner, both on the phone and in personal contact
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and highly adaptable to constant change based on business objectives
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, be self-directed, and possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
  • Strong moral compass: ability to operate with integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Valid CA driver's license required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Architectural Engineering or related field; preferred
  • 5+ years' experience designing retail or quick-service restaurants (with drive-thru); preferred
  • CA registered Architect, preferred
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Smartsheet; preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor assigned projects by maintaining personal and written contact with New Construction and Architectural Design teams.
  • Stay updated on specific details and scope of work for each project, developing and maintaining comprehensive tracking schedules.
  • Continuously monitor weekly activity reports, scope, and timelines, identifying key milestones and critical path activities.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Review projects from the construction documents phase to construction administration phase for adherence to design intent, drawing accuracy, and current prototype changes.
  • Prepare detailed site plans and conceptual drawings for feasibility studies and entitlement packages using AutoCAD and other advanced design software tools.
  • Monitor prototype changes to ensure current projects are updated expediently.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality control and ensure design adheres to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Establish clear communication channels between teams and provide timely updates on project progress, milestones, and potential issues.
