About The Position

We are looking for talented individuals to join our NAPA family as Counter Sales associates. As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are the "face of the retail store" and the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores for all their automotive needs. While extensive mechanical knowledge is not required, a background and understanding of automotive parts is necessary. This role offers a great opportunity whether you are looking for a career as a Parts Specialist, seeking full/part-time employment, or aiming to explore other career paths within NAPA in the future.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License
Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or at least a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Love fast-paced retail environments.
Great listening skills and empathy for customers.

Nice To Haves

Technical or Trade school courses or degree.
Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision.
Knowledge of cataloging AND/OR inventory management systems.
Entirely customer-centric (external/internal).
ASE Certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
Use parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
Provide outstanding customer care and interactions.
Welcome retail customers and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
Utilize technology including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.
