About The Position

Town Pump is looking for a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to join their growing team. This role offers opportunities for career growth within the company. The Store Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling cash and transactions, stocking and maintaining merchandise, ensuring store cleanliness and safety, and performing deli food sales and cooking.

Ability to complete vendor check-in procedures.
Ability to complete protocol system and “drive off” controls.
Ability to sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water/cleaning solution buckets.
Ability to keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service.
Handle cash handling and accounting.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise.
Maintain housekeeping inside and outside of the store.
Ensure store safety and security.
Perform deli food sales and cooking.
Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers.
Complete accurate and effective completion of shift work.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store.
Complete vendor check-in procedures.
Complete the protocol system and “drive off” controls.
Advise the store manager of any situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, fill water/cleaning solution buckets on islands, and complete any other duties assigned by management.
Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform all deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
