About The Position

Under the direction of the General Manager, this role involves placing processed donations in the proper area on the sales floor, sorting, boxing, and labeling hangers by type. Key responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of the sales floor, receiving incoming donations and issuing receipts, and greeting and assisting donors and customers. The position requires adherence to organizational core principles, the ability to follow directions, provide excellent customer service, and react calmly in emergency situations. Knowledge of textile articles is beneficial. Basic computer skills, including beginner knowledge of the Internet for looking up information, are also required.

  • High School education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous retail experience is highly preferred.
  • Beginner knowledge of the Internet and the ability look up information.

Responsibilities

  • Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated.
  • Rotate stock on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures; bring stock to sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Place and present all merchandise on appropriate textile racks and wares shelves in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures.
  • Sort, box and label hangers by type.
  • Assist in textile color rotation per established procedure.
  • Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
  • Direct customers to proper area and provide general information as requested.
  • Stay alert and watch for shoplifting; notify store management on suspicious activity.
  • Keep sales floor and production area clean and safe.
  • Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.
  • Refer all customer complaints to management in a timely manner.
  • Answer telephone promptly using established etiquette procedure.
  • Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
  • React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
