About The Position

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. This position is part-time, with up to 29 hours per week, and is classified as Non-Exempt. There are 2 positions available in the Thrift Store Department. The hourly wage is $14.05.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass a Background Check which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
  • Able to operate a POS/Cash Register
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with the general public in a courteous manner.
  • Able to address multiple clients in a timely manner.
  • Responsive, detail oriented.
  • Ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by The Salvation Army Employee Handbook and all instore policies & memos.
  • Process and sell merchandise in accordance with policy.
  • Stocking
  • POS/Register Sales
  • Cleaning
  • Rag out
  • Greet all customers and/or donors, giving prompt and courteous assistance.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, neat, and organized Store.
  • Maintain assigned Store area as directed.
  • Maintain safety standards, report any hazards or problems to Supervisor.
  • Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
