About The Position
This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items for display in the store. The role involves determining the suitability and pricing of items based on established standards, assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area, assisting store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items, operating and maintaining a cash register, and responding to customer questions.
Requirements
- Ability to operate a cash register and perform basic math
- Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of experience in a retail or warehouse setting
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, sort, and categorize donated items (clothing, shoes, housewares, etc.)
- Price and tag items based on established guidelines
- Hang and rack clothes, box items, and maintain inventory flow
- Operate cash register, handle sales, count change, issue receipts
- Prepare purchased items for bagging and maintain register accuracy
- Answer the phone and provide store information
- Maintain tidy appearance of the store and sorting room
- Clean display shelves, floors, mirrors, and windows
- Perform other duties as assigned
