About The Position

The Retail Store Clerk Southeast works in the Arcadia and Upland retail stores to sell Girl Scout Merchandise to our Troop Leaders and parents on behalf of our Girl Scouts. This role keeps the shops looking inviting, full of product, and clean and takes direction from the Retail Sales Manager.   • Ability to spend time sitting, utilizing the computer, and standing and walking throughout the facilities for long periods in certain circumstances and dependent upon the fluctuating customer service/operational needs.
  • Ability to travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to various facilities throughout the region.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds periodically, to include the ability to move boxes related to merchandise deliveries and stockroom organization.
  • May need to use a step stool or climb a ladder due to merchandising in-store and stockroom maintenance.
  • Able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of themself or others.
  • GED or High School diploma required.
  • Comply with state-mandated reporter training.
  • Attend GSGLA signature events and/or other activities as assigned.
  • Complete a Livescan check

Nice To Haves

  • Some college experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Girl Scouting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, consistent, professional and knowledgeable customer service.
  • Assist volunteers to complete their Girl Scout Merchandise purchases.
  • Adhere to and support Store Policies.
  • Be knowledgeable of the merchandise as it relates to the Program levels and answer volunteer’s questions.
  • Learn about new merchandise as it is developed and introduced.
  • Educate the volunteer on the National Girl Scout Program Portfolio and its complimentary merchandise.
  • Learn and understand from the Retail Store Manager the skills of excellent product placement techniques, and how to encourage additional sales.
  • Learn & practice strong inventory control methods.
  • Correctly counting in merchandise shipment to packing slip.
  • Assist to complete cycle counts year-round, and in full physical count as needed.
  • Understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and how the Retail Shop can motivate girls and parents to expand their participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
