About The Position
VIA Rail is undertaking ambitious projects to modernize its services and infrastructure, including a new train fleet and ongoing infrastructure improvements, to build the future of transportation in Canada. Working for VIA Rail means contributing to sustainable mobility. This role is for an experienced individual in logistics, inventory management, or warehouse operations to join VIA Rail and help ensure the reliability and safety of its national passenger rail fleet.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift operating experience
- Knowledge of warehousing practices and hazardous materials classification
- Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office, Teams, Oracle)
Nice To Haves
- Certified TDG (an asset)
Responsibilities
- Receive, pick, distribute, and store materials
- Process shipments, transfers, and transactions in systems (e.g., Oracle)
- Maintain inventory accuracy and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Support maintenance teams in locating parts and provide strong customer service
- Operate handling equipment, manage materials, and maintain a safe work environment
Benefits
- Hourly wage: $34.08/hour
- Shift premiums: evening ($1.50/hour), night ($2.00/hour)
