About The Position

The Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to customers’ healthcare needs and CVS Health’s goal of making health care more connected, convenient, and compassionate.

The associate delivers attentive customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor, and supports store opening and closing activities as needed. The role also includes helping other departments, including photo and beauty, and may include assisting pharmacy personnel or working shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities. Associates are expected to support CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help keep departments stocked and operational.
• Stay current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
