About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and CVS Health’s health care services. The role provides compassionate, attentive customer service; handles cashier transactions; maintains the sales floor and inventory; supports store opening and closing as needed; and helps keep departments such as photo and beauty stocked and operational. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel, including by working regular pharmacy shifts, and promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Lift or exert up to 35 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently; regularly exert negligible force to move objects, including through overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items as needed.
• Perform cashier duties accurately, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure they are stocked and operational while staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health journeys.
