Store Associate
About The Position
The Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role provides differentiated service by anticipating customer needs, demonstrating care, greeting customers warmly, helping them locate items, and identifying and resolving service issues. Associates handle cashier transactions, maintain the sales floor and inventory, support opening and closing activities when needed, and assist departments such as photo and beauty. They may also assist pharmacy personnel, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development, and promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
- Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, read, and inspect small parts or details.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
- Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
- Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
- Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
- Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
- Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
- Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities.
- Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
