About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and contribute to their health care experience. The role includes providing attentive service, completing cashier duties, maintaining the sales floor, supporting store opening and closing activities, and assisting departments such as photo, beauty, and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position offers opportunities for growth and career development, including regular pharmacy shifts when needed.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Able to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Able to lift or exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, read, and perform visual inspections involving small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items.
• Perform cashier duties accurately, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are fully stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
