About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and contribute to CVS Health’s health care services. The role involves providing compassionate customer service, operating the register, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, supporting store opening and closing activities, and helping keep departments such as photo and beauty stocked and operational. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development. The position is part-time, with 20 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, check, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support across departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure they are stocked and operational.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as opportunities arise.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
