About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role contributes to CVS Health’s goal of providing a connected, convenient, and compassionate health experience.

The associate provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor, supports store opening and closing activities when needed, and helps keep departments such as photo and beauty stocked and operational. The role may also include assisting pharmacy personnel and working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development. Associates are expected to promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health.
