About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team. The role supports customers’ needs, helps maintain store operations and sales-floor readiness, and contributes to CVS Health’s goal of providing a convenient and compassionate health experience. Associates may also support pharmacy personnel and work shifts in the pharmacy as opportunities arise.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer-service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs, showing compassion, and identifying and resolving potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Perform cashier duties accurately, handling cash, checks, and credit-card transactions according to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping keep them stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career-development opportunities.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
