About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and CVS Health’s healthcare services. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to a positive customer experience and help customers on their path to better health.

The associate provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor, supports store opening and closing activities when needed, and helps keep departments—including photo and beauty—stocked and operational. The role may also include assisting pharmacy personnel and working regular shifts in the pharmacy as opportunities arise. Associates promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, read, and perform visual inspections involving small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and caring service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items when needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure departments are stocked and operational while staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career development opportunities.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ paths to better health.
