About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and CVS Health’s health care services. The role includes providing attentive customer service, performing cashier duties, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, supporting store operations, and helping keep other departments operational. Associates may assist pharmacy personnel and work regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development. The position is part-time, with anticipated weekly hours of 20. Weekend work is required every weekend; weekday shift times are flexible, and availability is required from 8 am to 9 pm every day of the week.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Meet the required availability: weekday shifts are flexible, with shifts scheduled between 8 am and 9 pm Monday through Sunday; every weekend is required.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Occasionally lift or exert up to 35 lbs of force, frequently up to 10 lbs, and regularly a negligible amount to move objects, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help them locate items as needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure departments are stocked and operational while staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health needs.
